We are on a roll (again)! Sara has gladly joined our speakers list. We are proud to unveiled our first female speaker, Sara Ljungblad. She is our first technology & design speaker! We were amazed by her excitement and passion in sharing her mind boggling research project. She takes design inspiration from specific experiences that are “analogous” to what a potential technology design could achive. Instead of learning from merely potential users, other people that share a practice that is relevant for the design are involved in the design process. investigating how existing meaningful experience can guide future designs. She shared an example with an idea of sensor-based photography, where sensor data would visualy affect pictures as they were taken. To understand how to design for a meaningful and engaging digital photographic experience, we learned from a specific type of amateur photographers called Lomographers. Their specific interest in analogous photography could guide our design, but our result was still a novel photography experience. Her sharing has truly ignited us with new perspectives of user experience design.

She was feeling a little stressed after we told her that there will be at least 4 cameras will be facing her and it stream live on the Internet. Professor Brian Palmer has something to tell you about one of the deepest dichotomies that plague our minds. Professor Karl-Henrik Robèrt developed a systematic approach towards sustainability called The Natural Step in the 1980s – He set out four conditions for the sustainability of earth derived from the laws of thermodynamics, a truly interdisciplinary approach and in line with TEDxMälaren’s vision to connect ideas.
